When you have a judgment issued by a state court in another state, domestication of the judgment in another state for enforcement purposes is covered by the Uniform Enforcement of Foreign Judgment Act, as adopted by the forum state. Accomplishing domestication under UEFJA is not a simple process procedurally. To the contrary, domestication of a foreign Federal Court judgment is quite easy.
Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1963, a federal court judgment creditor need only obtain and record a certified copy of the judgment in the other federal court: " A judgment so registered shall have the same effect as a judgment of the district court of the district where registered and may be enforced in a like manner."
