Construction law comprises that area of law relating to the improvement of real property, residential or commercial. This includes a wide range of services to anyone involved in any stage of the construction project, including pre-planning, lender negotiation, contracts with general contractors, sub-contractors, architects, and material suppliers.
We represent general contractors and sub-contractors in a variety issues arising out of work performed on construction projects. Our clients have lien rights under the Texas Constitution and laws. Construction liens may be filed on real property for money owed to a contractor, material supplier or anyone who supplies labor or material for the improvement of real property, residential or commercial. State law permits such persons to file liens against improved real property to preserve and protect the right to be paid for services and goods provided in the improvement of such property. We assist clients with the filing of such liens and, if necessary, the recovery of funds resulting from the filing of such liens, as well as preservation of claims in bankruptcy or other insolvency proceedings.
